Während der Intervention von Handwerk werden Leute auf der Strasse angefragt, eine Skizze auf Ihre Handinnenfläche zu zeichnen. Diese wird fotografiert, ausgedruckt und auf der Rückseite mit Informationen zur Person versehen. Das kontinuierliche Anbringen der Bilder im Raum verleiht Handwerk einen prozesshaften Charakter. During the intervention of Handwerk, we ask people on the street to sketch something into their hand, they personally deal with. We take a picture of the hand and label it on the backside with information about the person and the sketch. The continuous hanging up of the Handwerks in the Kunstraum Schalter, gives the project a process character.

Die Hände sind einerseits Tast- sowie Greiforgan, andererseits eine Art Spiegelbild des menschlichen Lebens. Das Alter zeigen sie physisch skrupellos auf und lassen durch die Lebenslinien Vergangenheit und Zukunft ergründen, sofern es der Glaube zulässt. Die Hand wird bei unserer Arbeit zum Thema gemacht. Dieses intime Körperteil dient als Leinwand der Gedanken der Teilnehmenden. Hands are a fumble and a griffin organ as well as a kind of mirror of humans life. Hands show the age of a person physically and let see future and past by life lines, if you believe in. This intimate part of the body works as a canvas of the thoughts of the participants.

Während der Dauer von vier Tagen sprechen wir Leute auf der Strasse an, eine frei wählbare Skizze auf Ihre Handinnenfläche zu entwerfen. Danach sollen sie uns erklären, warum sie genau diese Skizze gezeichnet haben. Die Hand fotografieren wir mit einer Digitalkamera und stempeln den Termin der Intervention darauf. During the intervention of Handwerk, we ask people on the street to sketch something into their hand they personally deal with. Afterwards we ask the participants to explain, why they sketched their object. We take a digital picture of the hand with sketch and stamp information of our work on it.

Die Fotos drucken wir vor der Öffnung des Schalters farbig aus. Jedes Bild ist auf der Rückseite mit Vorname und Alter der Person sowie Bezug zur gezeichneten Skizze beschriftet. Die Bilder hängen wir im Raum angeordnet auf, um eine perspektivische Tiefe zu schaffen. Before the Kunstraum Schalter opens it doors, we print out the pictures. Each pictures is labeled on the backside: first name and age of the person as well as the relation to the sketch. We arrange the pictures in the room, that it gives a perspective view.

Der anfänglich nackte Raum wird über die Zeitspanne der Intervention mit Beiträgen gefüllt und erhält somit einen stark prozesshaften Charakter. Durch die partizipative Eigenschaft des Projektes wecken wir das Interesse der Beteiligten und schaffen einen Anreiz, die Intervention im Schalter anzuschauen. During the Intervention, we fill the primarily empty room with Handwerks. This working method gives the project a process character. As this is a participative project, we want to trigger people to come to the Kunstraum Schalter and see their and other contributions.

Die ursprünglichste menschliche Kommunikationsform ist den eigenen Körper als Medium zu benutzen. Uns interessiert, was die Leute spontan auf Ihre Hand skizzieren und wie diese in Kombination mit der individuellen Hand wirkt. Besonders der Vergleich der verschiedenen Handwerke reizt uns. The primal human communication method is to use the own body as a medium. We are interested, what people sketch spontaneous into their hand and how it works with each individually hand. Especially the comparison with different hands is, what we are intrigued.

Perspektivisch sind die Werke auf das Schalter-Fenster beim Eingang ausgerichtet. Stehen Besucher an diesem Punkt, ergibt die Bilderanordnung eine perspektivische Tiefe. Vom Eingang her sind nur Hände zu sehen. Sind Besucher an der Geschichte der Werke interessiert, können Sie den Raum betreten und auf der Rückseite der einzelnen Bilder mehr erfahren. Der hintere, kleinere Raum wird bei dieser Arbeit nicht benutzt und die Türe verriegelt. The Handwerks are arranged, that it gives the best view from the desk window. If visitors look through this desk window, the installation becomes a perspective deepness. If visitors are interested in the history behind the Handwerks, they can walk into the room and read the information on the back sides.
